Ready for a Big Getaway?

Sometimes it just feels like you're chained to your desk. Literally surrounded by what it takes to put words on paper, or on a screen, or whatever the heck the next decade has in store for us.

Let's take a look:
  • Character bible - you've got to remember all those tiny details. Not only your main characters, but all the other denizens who pop up within your pages. You know the drill. Eye color, hair color, ear color, car model, likes, dislikes and fetishes....
  • At least one thesaurus and a dictionary - more if you're writing historical fiction, a techno-thriller, a legal yarn, or peppering your dialog with phrases from a foreign country, like Manhattan or Southern California.
  • Sketches of the world you've created, creatures, weapons, the logo for a new brand of soda.
  • Zillions of little details on sticky-notes - pasted on the walls, closet doors, floor, ceiling, monitor screen, and the back of your underwear drawer.
Do you dream to sit in the coffee shop with your laptop/netbook/iPad® and a double-tall, half 2%-half Bombay Gin®, ground escargot latte with whipped topping and write like All Of Those Other Writer People Whose Pictures and Birthday Reminders Show Up On Your Facebook Page?

How about if one or two simple, inexpensive (maybe even free) goodies for your laptop/netbook/iPad could shatter those chains!

The Map Trap and Zap Blog serves to provide a treasure trove of details, background, and updates in support of my Mapping, Trapping, and Zapping workshop. Check the sidebar for more details!

Seeya soon,
Ron
